Chandigarh Police Arrest Sukhbir Singh Badal & Bikram Singh Majithia, Protests Against BSF Jurisdiction Extension
Chandigarh – Akali leader Sukhbir Singh Badal along with Bikram Singh Majithia has been arrested by Chandigarh police. They were protesting against the central government’s decision to extend BSF jurisdiction along with the border areas. These are breaking updates coming in from Chandigarh.
These of course are the latest developments coming in. Akali leaders Sukhbir Singh Badal along Bikram Singh Majithia have been arrested. in Chandigarh, they have been arrested by the Chandigarh police. They were protesting against the central government’s decision to extend BSF jurisdiction along with the border areas.
Remember, in the notification issued yesterday by the MHA, the BSS jurisdiction has been extended to 50-kilometer limits across all territories lying by the international border.
So the opposition parties are clearly targeting the state government over here in Punjab as Charanjit Singh Channi on the fifth of this particular tour. He made the home minister also Captain Amarinder Singh. You know, they are targeting Congress leadership over here in Punjab but clearly saying that this is just because of the meeting with the HM, This has led to you know here in Punjab that BSF jurisdiction has increased to 50 KM.
Akalis were protesting outside the Punjab governor house demanding, the central government to you know, roll back this decision. Chandigarh police didn’t let them go to the Punjab Governor House.
They stop the protest. The barricading was already been done by the Chandigarh police. They were stopped at the chowk of Punjab Raj Bhavan, where, Sukhbir Singh Badal, Bikram Singh Majithia along with the other Akali leaders, were arrested by Chandigarh police as they were trying to cover the Punjab governor house.
So Chandigarh police have arrested all these leaders but in their address, they clearly said that this is just against the Punjabi and Punjabi commuters also the fundamental rights of Punjabi. As BJP, they have pushed this particular decision over Punjab.
The jurisdiction radius has been increased for the BSF and they don’t want it and they will be kept on protesting against it. Unless this decision will not be rolled back by the central government.
