Ken DeLand Death News: Missing American College Student From France Found In Spain
Ken DeLand, an American college student who was informed of missing late the prior month while studying in France, was found safe in Spain. His family and local authorities said he is going home with his mother. On a website, Ken DeLand’s parents informed digitally that their 22-year-old son called home on Friday morning.
According to his parents, they last heard from him on 27 November but said it nearly after three weeks. DeLand’s mother is in France and is getting ready to see her son. She also said she is bringing him home to celebrate Christmas eve.
Who is Ken DeLand?
DeLand is a senior at St. John Fisher University in Rochester, New York. He was studying in southeast France at the University Grenoble Alpes. Ken was learning French abroad through the study program American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS).
Why does Ken DeLand do this?
The American student who went missing in France last month had a problem making friends and may have willingly left the place he was living in. Ken DeLand was facing difficulty while living in France and expressed a wish to leave earlier. Ken also told several people that he reached France insufficiently prepared. He added that he was not feeling great. He had said that he wanted to leave earlier by moving to Marseille.
Ken DeLand’s Family Said
They said, “Ken wearing a red jacket, grey beanie, scarf, black backpack, blue pants, and sneakers.” His family said on the website alongside a photo from a CCTV camera of DeLand walking inside a sports store on Saturday, December 3.
His family said, “mysteriously boarded a train to the town of Valence, about 55 miles southwest of Grenoble, France. Later, he was spotted entering a sports store in Montelimar to make some purchases.” In addition, his family also stated, “Ken made an $8.40 purchase in that sports store,” according to bank reports.
His father said, “Ken was in constant communication with his family while abroad.” DeLand Sr. also said, “Ken would reach out to me almost daily, sometimes every other day.”
How did Ken DeLand do this?
According to the French justice, Florence Hermite, in the U.S., the college student Ken freely traveled to Spain after getting help from some people they suggested to him after a meeting.
When was Ken DeLand found in Spain?
On December 16, Ken DeLand’s father confirmed that his son was discovered safe in Spain after finally making touch with his son. His father also said his son is safe and in good health. On Tuesday, in a report made by the DeLand family, they expressed their thanks to everyone who helped in the search for their son.
