Legendary Basketball Player Willis Reed Passes Away at the age of 80

Willis Reed was an American professional basketball player, general manager, and coach from Lincoln Parish, Louisiana, United States of America. Willis was a very professional player who spent his whole professional playing career with the New York Knicks from 1964-1974.
As per the sources, Reed got famous after becoming the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1982. He played his first international championship in the 1969–70 season and became the first player in NBA history whose name was selected as the NBA All-Star Game MVP, the NBA Finals MVP, and the NBA regular season MVP in the same season of the championship.

About Willis Reed
Willis was a notable and prominent player who become part of media headlines after his shocking death news. This talented man was born on June 25, 1942, in Lincoln Parish, Louisiana, USA. Let me tell you that Reed was the only child of his parents named Willis Reed Sr and Inell Reed.
Willis was a very strong and bold child since his childhood. Additionally, his parents also saw athletic ability in his body thats why his parents enrolled him at West Side High School in Lillie, Louisiana where he played basketball.

After that, he enrolled at Grambling State University, a historically black college, and was selected for the Grambling State Tigers men’s basketball team. At this university, he met his future wife Geraldine Marie Oliver and got married to her in the early 90s.
Later, the duo shared two kids but unfortunately, they got divorced. After that, Willis tied the knot with a nurse named Gale Kennedy in 1983 in Roslyn Heights, New York. Additionally, Reed shared two kids with his second wife.

He started playing for the New York Knicks basketball team and quickly got famous for his amazing playing skills.

For the following year, he also received the honor of the NAIA Basketball Hall of Fame. During his second championship, he got injured and got retired after the 1973–74 season. After his retirement, he started giving basketball training to his students and became a coach. He immediately joined general management after his recovery. Not only this, but he also became the vice president of basketball operations of the New Orleans Hornets in 2004 and got retired in 2007.
