We were informed that this is the first case of the Nipah virus, not just in the state of Kerala, but in the country. And obviously, this has raised concern amongst the health authorities, given the fact that Kerala is already impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, that we all know that how almost 60 to 70% of the total cases of new flesh cases are coming from the state of Kerala.
So obviously, it’s a matter of big concern, not just for Kerala, but also for the central government, given the fact that the health infrastructure is all is already under huge pressure because of the COVID pandemic, and therefore this is only going to add to the host of the people.

We informed that the sample of the particular virus is not going to be sent to the National Capital Delhi where it will be examined and would be shared with other authorities also, to see that, what is the genome sequencing and how it’s going to spread and what is the rate of transmission.
All these are things are under-examined at this point. But one thing is for sure that this case has been taken among the health officials seriously. Because the state of Kerala is already tackling the COVID pandemic and the health facilities are already compromised because of the pandemic.
