Apple Threatened to Ban Twitter from the App Store, According to Elon Musk

The United States of America, November 29, 2022: Twitter owner Elon Musk is taken on tech giant Apple in a series of tweets. Musk hit out at Apple over its tight control of what is allowed on its app store.

He also said that the iPhone makers had stopped advertising on the social media platform. The billionaire CEO of Twitter accused Apple of censorship and threatened to withhold Twitter from its App Store without saying why.

Remember, for the apps to be permitted on Apple and Google Store social networking platforms must have effective systems for moderating harmful content.

Musk also said that Apple has mostly stopped its ads on Twitter. He targeted Apple asking Do they hate free speech in America? Musk later tagged Apple CEO Tim Cook in another tweet asking what was going on here.

Musk earlier announced a drop in net revenue that is mainly due to companies halting ads on the app. He also blamed activists for pressuring the advertisers. Now Apple is not replied to mass accusations.

Although Apple has strict guidelines over which apps can be on its app store, including systems to moderate abusive content. But since taking over Twitter Musk is laid off many employees tasked with fighting disinformation. He is also reinstated previously banned accounts including that of former US President Donald Trump.
