The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the 16-member squad for the three-match One Day International (ODI) series against the West Indies, starting from July 27 in Barbados. The squad is led by Rohit Sharma, who will also captain the team in the two-match Test series that will follow the ODIs. Virat Kohli, who had opted out of the limited-overs leg of the tour due to personal reasons, has been named in the ODI squad as a batsman.
The ODI squad features some new faces and some familiar ones. Shubman Gill and Ruturaj Gaikwad, who impressed in the recent Test series against England, have been rewarded with ODI call-ups. Suryakumar Yadav, who made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka earlier this year, has retained his place in the middle order.
