A two-hour finale rap order was given by the network and the finale and the final 12 episodes were postponed to broadcast in 2017. Shadowhunters Season 4 may not ever air on freeform but the fans fervor left its imprint.

Building the most intense level of anticipation station for the finale, the show’s creators work tirelessly to come up with a series finale. Will there be a Shadowhunters Season 4?
Since talks with Netflix, a significant financial partner for the production of the series did not result in an extension of its promise to find the series. Shadowhunters Season 4 will not air on freeform.
New episodes may now be seen on Netflix one day after episodes air in the United States, thanks to a collaboration with freeform.
The primary production firm Constantine film was unable to negotiate a higher price with freeform the network’s parent business. Throughout a few months, Constantine films made an effort to look for an alternative source of funding but were unsuccessful.
They kept looking up until the firm officially announced that the current incarnation of The Mortal Instruments wasn’t going to be capable of continuing in August 2018. So, season 4 is not coming up right now.
