Snowfall in Kashmir Hill stations Extends the Winter Tourism Season

Kashmir Hill stations like Gulmarg, Sonmarg, and Pahalgam receive fresh snowfall that carpets these places with white snow. This is brought shear to the people associated with tourism in the valley.

As the tourist arrival increases, it also means a longer winter tourism period this year. While tourists enjoy the snowfall in the valley, it also leads to a lot of problems for locals due to heavy snowfall in higher areas including Kupwara, Bandipora, Sonmarg, and Pi Panjal range, many roads were closed.

The ski destination of Kashmir region Gulmarg and parts of Sonmarg received more than a foot of snowfall. Sadhana and Kupwara have received 1.5 feet and four inches of snowfall respectively, and the water grids in the poor district had about three inches of snow.

Tourists in the Gulmarg’s ski resorts were seen enjoying the snow and might well feel they were lucky to witness see first snowfall. So it’s really heaven on earth. The myth is that this is not a great place. People find it very great. The people are extremely friendly.

Some of the tourists were seeing snowfall for the first time in their lives and found the whole experience chanting. With the snowfall temperatures in the Valley have dropped as well.

Srinagar recorded a low temperature of 4.2 degrees Celsius while Gulmarg recorded a low of minus 4.5 degrees Celsius.

Kashmir get good marks right now where everything is covered in the white layer as you can see in your visuals the mountains of Gulmarg are completely covered in white a lot of tourist arrivals since yesterday, after the snowfall.

Tourism business stakeholders in the valley are thrilled by the season’s first snowfall, which attracts a lot of tourists from across the world to the valley. All hotels and guest houses in Gulmarg are fully booked.

But up whenever snowfall starts, they witness a boost in tourism and they earn quite a lot during this time. People from all over the world come to enjoy the winter season.

The government is also planning ski events this year and Pahalgam and Sonmarg. Earlier only Gulmarg used to host ski tournaments. The government hopes that there would be record-breaking tourist arrivals in the valley this winter.

With Kashmir receiving season’s snowfall, all the hill stations of the Kashmir region are completely covered with white snow. It’s great news for the tourist stakeholders in the Kashmir Valley, and the tourism department of Kashmir also expects the tourist arrival to increase in the next few weeks.
