Robert Farley – A Tragic Death and a Shocking Loss
On August 22, 2023, Robert Farley was staying at his son’s home in Mooresville, a lakeside property that Caleb had bought earlier that year. Around midnight, a massive explosion rocked the house and reduced it to rubble. The blast was so powerful that it sent debris flying hundreds of feet away and damaged several nearby vehicles.
Robert Farley was killed instantly by the explosion. His body was found by the first responders after searching through the wreckage for hours. Another person, Christian Rogers, a family friend who was also in the house, survived the blast and was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Caleb Farley was not at home when the explosion occurred. He arrived at the scene on Tuesday morning and spoke with the authorities. He also posted a tribute to his father on social media, calling him a legend and saying that he loved him for life.
The cause of the explosion is still under investigation, but officials believe that it was a gas leak that ignited in one of the bedrooms. No foul play is suspected.
The Titans coach Mike Vrabel expressed his condolences to Caleb Farley and his family and said that the team would do everything to support him. He also said that everything else was trivial compared to what Caleb was going through.
A Legacy of Love and Faith
Robert Farley left behind a legacy of love and faith for his family and friends. He named his sons after Caleb and Joshua, two biblical figures who were sent by Moses to scout the Promised Land. He believed that his son Caleb had the courage and confidence to overcome any obstacle.
He also shared his Christian faith with his family and hoped to reunite with his wife in heaven. He once told ESPN that he prayed every day for God’s will to be done in his life.
Robert Farley will be remembered as a devoted father, a loving husband, a successful businessman, and a passionate sports fan. He will be missed by many who knew him and admired him.
