William Chepkut (born in 1974 – died on 8 October 2022) was a politician, businessman, media personality, and former member of the National Assembly for the Ainabkoi Constituency from Ainabkoi, Kenya, East Africa. He was a member of parliament for the Ainabkoi constituency.

Chepkut’s full name is William Kamuren Chirchir Chepkut. After searching a lot on many social media sites, I did not find any details regarding his date of birth. According to a guess, he was born in the year 1974. He was 48 years old at the time of his death.

William’s age is between 35 and 40 years old (at the time of his death). He passed away on 8 October 2022. His birthplace was Ainabkoi, Kenya, East Africa.

He attended Kenya School of Government for his basic education. Chepkut graduated from Jabalpur University, India from 1992 to 1995. William completed a Master of Arts in Community Development and Organization from Kenyatta University.

In October 2022, William’s family revealed the cause of his death. They told the public that Chepkut passed away due to kidney failure. This personality was admitted to doctors at Mediheal and later shifted to a Nairobi-based hospital from Uasin Gishu County.

Chepkut’s younger brother Enock Kosgei first told the media that William’s health improved a little bit and they hoped he’d completely recover.

Unfortunately, he was not able to make it. Dr. Chanchal Singh who is the chief intensivist at the Mediheal Hospital in Parklands said that he and his team tried their best to resuscitate him but the efforts were unsuccessful.

Dr. Chanchal said:-

“We received the patient, Hon. William Chepkut at 8:20 am and we checked him but we did not find any signs of heartbeat or breath.”

In the second round of this election, he had to face failure by 90 votes. However, Chepkut contested for this seat as an independent candidate and won. William had earlier contested for this seat in the 2013 general election but was defeated.

Apart from this, Chepkut was a member of the Committee on Appointments and the vice chairman of the Special Funds Accounts Committee. From 1997 to 2003, he was appointed to a senior position in the office of the president. William worked as a personal assistant to Nicholas Biwott.  Nicholas was a very powerful minister during the KANU era.
