Tokyo Paralympics 2020 India’s Sumit Antil Wins Gold In Javelin Throw
Tokyo – The second gold for India in the Paralympics. August 30, 2021, has been a completely historic day with India clinching five medals today in the Paralympics. It’s certainly been a stupendous performance for Team India. With the medals, it seems just coming and coming for Team India and athletes.
So Sumit Antil has won a gold medal for India. It’s the second gold today for India at the Paralympics. Sumit Antil has won gold in the Javelin throw event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also put out a tweet congratulating Sumit for this achievement athletes continue to shine at the Paralympics.
Modi wrote that the nation is proud of Sumit Antil’s record-breaking performance in the Paralympics. He further added in the tweet that congratulations to Sumit Antil for winning the prestigious gold medal. He wished him all the best for the future.
Indian athletes are giving amazing performances at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics. Today is a positive great day for the Indian contingent India has packed five medals today out of which two are golds so far. India has bagged a medal early in the morning in the shooting, and now another medal in terms of Javelin’s throw in the 64 categories.
Sumit Antil proved to be brilliant. As far as the javelin is concerned, all those three throws were world record attempts. His father was a well-respected man who worked as an Air Force officer. He got into an accident after coming back from institutions in Haryana, Sonipat. Later on, he was shifted to the Army Hospital when he was deployed and caught paralysis.
Sumit was sent to Pune, Maharashtra, to an Army Hospital. He had won a silver medal in a tournament that happened in Germany in 2019. He had been a gold medalist for the national record as well and now a world record holder.
