As per Wikipedia, Nicola sent an email to her employee at 08:53 GMT and she was last seen at 09:10 at her home. Some investigators believe that she might have fallen into the river while walking. Later, the police tried hard to find Bulley dead or alive.
Police found a CCTV video in which a lady was pushing a pram at the missing area but later, they confirmed that that was not Bulley. They searched for her a lot in the river and revealed in the media that she was not in the river.
With the help of a helicopter, police divers, drones, and sniffer dogs, they found clothes of Bulley including a black quilted gilet, ankle-length green Wellington boots, and a black Engelbert Strauss coat. Unfortunately, the police officers could not find any evidence of criminal activity or third-party involvement in Bulley’s disappearance.

Later, on 19 February 2023, an unidentified body was found in the river approx 1.6 km downstream of where Bulley was last seen. Later, the police took pictures of the body. Lancashire Constabulary confirmed publicly that the body they found in the river was Bulley’s dead body. After that, Bulley’s family members went to the area making direct contact with the police officers.
